About our Kaiapa ʻAuʻau/Pākeke (Swim/Pocket Diaper)
Use and Care Instructions
Prior to using the diaper, adjust the rise snaps on the lower front panel of the diaper. For a smaller fit and to ensure a proper fit around baby's legs, secure the rise snaps on a lower setting. The diaper should sit right above baby's bum in the back and about an inch below baby's piko (belly button) in the front.
Secure the diaper around baby's waist by fastening the waist snaps. The diaper should fit snugly, but comfortably on your baby. You should be able to place two fingers between the top of the diaper and baby's tummy.
Before Use
Wash and dry all diapers at least once before use. This will help wash away natural oils that minimize absorption.
Before Washing Soiled Diapers
Remove/shake solids into the toilet at each diaper change.
Place soiled diapers/cloth wipes into dry pail or wet bag until laundry day. Do not soak diapers.
For Every Wash Cycle
Pre-wash: Warm wash, shortest cycle, with minimal or no detergent. This will help lift stains and rinse away residual waste.
Main wash: Hot wash, heavy cycle, with detergent and extra rinse.
Dry: Tumble dry on low or hang dry.
Important Tips!
Wash around 12-18 one size diapers (plus inserts, wipes, pail liner and wet bags) in each load.
Wash diapers every 2 to 3 days after use.
Do NOT use fabric softener, bleach or dryer sheets.
Only use cloth diaper-safe creams on your baby.
Air drying in direct sunlight is the best way to dry and disinfect diapers and inserts and also get rid of stains! However, do not leave them in direct sunlight for longer than necessary; the powerful UV rays and high temperatures may damage diapering products.

About This Print
Kapa Kuiki Pakalana
Hawaiian quilts were originally crafted from kapa, a traditional fabric made from wauke (paper mulberry) bark, which were decorated with geometric block prints. When missionaries arrived in Hawaiʻi around 1820, patchwork techniques were introduced, leading to the unique Hawaiian kuiki (quilt) style known today. This design celebrates Hawaiian kapa kuiki with a motif of the dainty, fragrant pakalana flowers.

Customer Reviews
I haven’t actually seen them yet. The items were a gift to my daughter. She lives in Idaho, but she was excited to receive them, so I think she is happy with the patterns and sizes. Baby isn’t due until March. Mahalo for your prompt shipping!!
Love all the designs of the kaiapa ʻauʻau and that we can wash it and reuse. Our son uses them for his infanr swim lessons so having a bunch on hand has been great. Studies show that reusable swim diapers are better when it comes to those who are not potty trained yet. His instructor always compliments him.
These work great and are the best reusable diapers I’ve used for my three kids. I prefer them to the all in ones because I’ve found they dry faster. They used to come with inserts but that must have changed recently. Make sure you order inserts-cause they don’t come with any!
I wish I had ordered these earlier. Great fit and my kid loves them.
We love these diapers! They're the coolest we've found for Hawaii's summer heat. Helping us to keep the diaper rash away. And of course the prints are beautiful.
