About this print
Nalu
Hawaiʻi is widely known as the birthplace of modern surfing. Historical accounts document Native Hawaiians of all ages, genders, and classes playing in the waves for both fun and competition. This tradition continues in Hawaiʻi today where the ocean is an inseparable part of life for many. Respect for the waves, along with the skills to ride them, are often taught to children at a young age, and the enjoyment of surfing lasts a lifetime!
This print was created by the wonderful Joelle Ihilani Birano of SoPupuka.
