Palaka ʻĀkala

Palaka or “frock” in Hawaiian, originally was embraced by Hawaii’s plantation workers in the early 1900s. Known for its durability, Palaka became the choice of fabric for paniolo (cowboys) too! Nearly a century later, Palaka is now synonymous with aloha wear and most locals own at least one piece of Palaka clothing (or more)! This special print represents the many cultures which have intertwined and compose our unique island home.

Our diapers are CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) and CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) compliant, which means that they are safe for children, do not contain harmful metals and chemicals, and have passed testing at a CPSC-accepted testing lab.

Our products are responsibly made in China. We work only with manufacturers who operate under the Fair Labor Association Workplace Code of Conduct, which ensures a safe and healthy workplace setting, fair wages, and standard, regulated work hours. 

We manufacture our products in small batches to minimize waste.
We do our best to utilize tags and packaging made from plant-based and recycled materials, and minimally package our products with eco-friendly supplies.

i absolutely ♥️ this ʻeke kōkua! 🥰 the removable dividers provide versatile options for a myriad of uses. the ring of sectioned pockets around the outside perimeter are perfect for keeping those smaller items corralled and accessible. the bonus… the frosting on the cake… is its easy-to-clean, waterproof material! 5 STARS ALL AROUND!
