Lau Nahele
Lau Nahele celebrates the diversity of Hawaiʻi’s native plant species! Seven native plants are featured in this print: maile, kupukupu, palapalai, ʻihiʻihilauākea, ʻalaʻala wai nui, ʻihi, and hāpuʻu. From coastal succulents to towering rainforest tree ferns, these native beauties are a small sampling of the wonders found in Hawaiʻi’s ecosystems. Native Hawaiians use several of these species in cultural practices such as lei making and hula.
This print was created in partnership with Kaille Harris, an incredibly talented watercolor and digital artist and owner of Under the Moon.
